Norcross FASTSIGNS® Center Prepares to Celebrate 20 Years in Business - Center doubles in size and houses state-of-the-art technology to meet sign-buy
Norcross, GA - Norcross FASTSIGNS® sign and graphics owner Barbara Nolan has seen a lot of changes over the past 20 years. She opened her center in June 1988, as just the 14th center in the FASTSIGNS franchise, which now totals over 520 centers worldwide. As technology, and for that matter, the entire process of doing business has evolved, so has her center and the way she operates it. The business has grown over the years, and to accommodate the growing needs of the center and its clients, Nolan recently expanded her center, doubling it in size.
The Norcross center, located at 6135 Peachtree Pkwy., Suite 605, was the very first FASTSIGNS center to open in Georgia, and was the only center 100% female-owned up until late 2006. Today, there are 17 FASTSIGNS centers located throughout Georgia.
Every year brings new advances in technology, introducing a variety of printers and sign-making equipment that produce projects faster, more accurately and affordably. Nolan has experienced these changes as the sole owner of the center. "When we first started out, we had only one of two 30" plotters in all of Atlanta and we were buying fonts for $250" said Nolan. "Today, plotters are the norm and you can simply download a font from the Internet!"
Nolan has to constantly be aware of what innovative technologies are coming into play in the sign and graphics industry, all of which were being created to meet the ever-growing demands of the sign-buying public. "We've gone from a digitizing pad and a green screen to purchasing large solvent and flatbed printers. By adapting and staying informed on technology trends, we have been able to provide a more cost-effective product to our clients without sacrificing quality."
As business has increased, so has the need to purchase equipment that can accommodate the varying sign requests of clients. "Our business was growing exponentially and our space wasn't accommodating to the business, we needed to make more room," said Nolan. The center just expanded from 1,400 square feet in size to 3,000 square feet. The expanded size features a larger lobby, showcasing the center's complete sign and graphics capabilities, including a full line of trade show and exhibit items. It also accommodates large printing equipment such as the 60" HP solvent printer and a new Gerber Solara flatbed printer, which will arrive in March.
"I am so thrilled that we have been in the community for so long and have been able to serve it well over the past 20 years," said Nolan. "We want to make sign buying simple for our clients. Our cutting-edge technology ensures consistent quality for every sign project, from start to finish. I can't wait to see what the future holds, and I know the next 20 years will be just as exciting!"
The Norcross FASTSIGNS offers consulting, design, production, file transfer, delivery, installation for a full range of custom sign and graphic products, including wide format banners and POP, site signs, exhibit graphics, window and vehicle graphics, decals and labels, safety and identification signage and floor graphics for interior and exterior use.
