Roland Offers Free Book on Print/Cut Graphics

IRVINE, CA. - Roland DGA Corporation, the industry leader in integrated print/cut technology, today announced the release of Taking the Mystery Out of Print/Cut, a free 60-page instructional book targeted for both novice and experienced sign industry professionals in the United States and Canada.

Developed as an educational tool for users of Roland’s integrated print/cut technology, Taking the Mystery Out of Print/Cut features in-depth technical information on the company’s trademark combination printer/contour cutters robust solutions designed to streamline the production of complex sign graphics. Using easy-to-follow descriptions and photos, the mystery-themed book shows how to optimize this technology to quickly and easily produce labels, vehicle art, heat transfers for apparel and outdoor signage. In addition to detailed production workflows, the book features an overview of several critical time- and money-saving techniques that can help professionals both increase their productivity and expand their businesses.

“For the past decade, Roland has offered groundbreaking devices that combine the best quality inkjet printing with the industry’s most accurate contour cutting,” said Brian McLeod, Roland DGA vice president of marketing. “This valuable resource guide illustrates exactly how to make your shop an even greater success by using integrated print/cut technology.”

Taking the Mystery Out of Print/Cut also features special tips and tricks from several industry experts, including:

  • Dan Antonelli of Graphic D-Signs in Washington, NJ
  • Butch "Super Frog" Anton of Far From Normal in Fargo, ND
  • Jay “Digi Man” Lansburg of Automic Designs in Buena Park, CA
  • Jim Conquest of Imagine It Graphics in Huntington Beach, CA
  • Mike Richford of Design Air in West Babylon, NY
  • Skip Grant of Grant Graphics in Saratoga Springs, NY

Taking the Mystery Out of Print/Cut is currently offered free of charge throughout the United States and Canada. Professionals in these regions may order the book by contacting a Roland authorized inkjet dealer, by calling the company directly at (800) 542-2307, or through the Roland Web site at www.rolanddga.com/mystery.

Roland Print/Cut Technology
The SOLJET SC-540EX achieves true 1440x1440 dpi resolution, allowing it to match colors and produce small, crisp text. The 54-inch, six-color inkjet can also print up to 300 sqft/hr for large production runs. It uses advanced Eco-SOL INK to print directly onto both coated and un-coated materials.

After printing, the SC-540EX streamlines the production process by automatically contour cutting graphics without having to reload or reposition them. Roland’s precision cutting technology is crucial for label production. When lamination is needed, the Roland Quadralign™ four-point optical registration system automatically realigns the cutting path after reloading the media and compensates for skew and distortion.

“With my SC-540EX, I print and cut decals with photorealistic graphics and tiny text,” said Skip Grant, owner of Grant Graphics. “It can produce up to 15,000 decals in an hour.”

VersaCAMM printer/cutters make it easy to produce colorful decals, labels and just about any sign imaginable. The four-color inkjets come in two widths, the 30-inch SP-300 and the new 54-inch SP-540V. Both combine printing and cutting in a single device to significantly improve production speed and ease of use. Like the SOLJET EX, the VersaCAMM Series also features the Quadralign four-point optical registration system and advanced Eco-SOL INK.

The SP-540V offers enormous value while filling the gap between the SP-300 and SC-540EX.
